Dr. V K Jain

Dr. V K Jain is a highly distinguished neurosurgeon with over 45 years of extensive experience. He currently serves as the Principal Director of the Department of Neurosurgery at Max Hospital, Delhi & NCR. His medical journey began with an MBBS from King George Medical College, Lucknow, in 1974. Subsequently, he earned his MCh in Neurosurgery from NIMHANS, Bangalore, in 1981. A Micro-neurosurgery Fellowship at Fujita Health University, Japan, was completed by him for one year. Moreover, he undertook several international training courses. These include a Brain Atlas Operators course in the USA and a Stereotactic Techniques workshop in Sweden. A Dosimetry course at Gamma Knife Centre, Japan, was also completed by him. Therefore, his training and credentials are truly world-class.

Additionally, Dr. Jain has held several prestigious academic positions. Professor at SGPGIMS, Lucknow, and Chairman of Neurosurgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital were roles he has served in. He also served as Visiting Professor at University Hospital of Geneva, Switzerland, and Fujita Health University, Japan. Leadership roles as Past President have been held by him in several prestigious societies. These include the Neurological Society of India, Skull Base Surgery Society of India, and others. A new entity of Benign Subarachnoid hemorrhage was described by him. A new technique for Atlanto Axial Dislocation surgery was also developed by him. Furthermore, he authored a book on “Craniovertebral Junction Anomalies – The Indian Experience.” Numerous publications and book chapters are also credited to his name. Consequently, he is a globally recognized and trusted name in neurosurgery.
