Dr. Sohan Lal Broor is a senior consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Endoscopy at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, Sarita Vihar, New Delhi. He served as the Professor and Head of the Gastroenterology Department at GB Pant Hospital from 1985 to 1997. He has held significant positions, including Secretary of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology (1990-96) and President of the same society (1996-97). Dr. Broor has been a member of numerous expert and advisory committees and has contributed extensively to medical education and training. He has delivered lectures and participated in seminars and panel discussions at both national and international levels. Dr. Broor’s research interests include gastric acid secretion, peptic ulcer, and small bowel physiology. He is a pioneer in endoscopic dilatation for corrosive esophageal strictures, a procedure now practiced worldwide. He has published numerous papers in reputable journals and received multiple national awards for his contributions.
