Dr. Deepak Govil

Dr. Deepak Govil is a highly experienced Surgical Gastroenterologist and GI Oncosurgeon with over 40 years of expertise. Currently, he serves as the Director of GI Surgery, GI Oncology and Bariatric Surgery at Medanta Noida and Medanta Mediclinic Defence Colony. His academic journey began with an MBBS from AIIMS, New Delhi, in 1982, followed by an MS in General Surgery from AIIMS in 1986. Subsequently, he completed his PhD in GI Surgery from AIIMS in 1995. Training in laparoscopic and robotic GI surgery came next at the Mayo Clinic and in Chicago, USA. Additionally, he runs the DrNB GI Surgery programme as an eminent academic faculty for 14 years. Therefore, his training and credentials are truly world-class.

Hepatopancreatobiliary, colorectal, and complex GI oncology procedures are his key focus areas. Over the years, he has authored book chapters and published research. He also initiated the DrNB GI Surgery programme at Apollo Hospitals. Setting up the Department of GI Surgery at PSRI, New Delhi, was another milestone. Moreover, he holds memberships in IAGES, ASI, IASG, SSAT, and the Indian Chapter of HPB Surgeons. Consequently, he is a globally recognized and trusted name in GI surgery.
