Dr. S. Sudhindran

Dr. S Sudhindran is a highly distinguished Gastrointestinal and Transplant Surgeon currently serving as Head and Clinical Professor at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad. With over 30 years of extensive surgical experience, he specializes in digestive diseases, surgical oncology, solid organ transplantation, and hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery. He completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Trivandrum Medical College and further pursued advanced training in vascular surgery and organ transplantation in the United Kingdom. He has earned prestigious qualifications including FRCS (Glasgow), FRCS (England), and FRCS (General Surgery). His international exposure includes working as a Clinical Fellow in Transplantation at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, along with multiple senior surgical roles across leading NHS hospitals in the UK.

Dr. Sudhindran is widely recognized as the first liver transplant surgeon in Kerala and a pioneer in the field of liver transplantation in India. He has successfully performed over 820 liver transplants, predominantly live donor procedures, and has extensive expertise in pancreas and small bowel transplantation. His clinical excellence is complemented by significant academic contributions, with over 100 publications in reputed journals and active involvement in research, clinical trials, and surgical audits. He has received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Trivandrum Medical College for his outstanding contributions to medicine and society.
