He completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi and earned his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK in 1987. Dr. Parakh is recognized for his contributions to the field, having established one of the first autonomous Departments of Vascular Surgery in India in 1990. He is also the founder of the Vascular Society of India and the Endo-vascular Intervention Society of India. His leadership extends internationally, as he served as the secretary for the International Society for Vascular Surgery in New York in 2007.
