About: Dr. Subhash Gupta
Dr. Subhash Gupta is the Chairman of the Max Centre for Liver and Biliary Sciences, one of the largest liver transplant centers in the world, with a remarkable record of over 3,000 transplants. The center currently performs more than 200 transplants annually, alongside an equal number of complex HPB (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary) cases. Dr. Gupta’s responsibilities include maintaining stringent safety protocols across all divisions, including Hepatology, Anesthesia, and Critical Care.
Dr. Gupta joined Max Healthcare in January 2017 and brings over 30 years of extensive experience in Surgical Gastroenterology, Liver Transplantation, and Hepatopancreaticobiliary Oncology. His medical journey began with an MBBS from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi in 1986, followed by an MS in General Surgery from AIIMS in 1989. He further specialized with an FRCSEd in Liver Transplant from Queen Elizabeth Medical Centre in 1995. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Gupta has been at the forefront of surgical advancements, making significant contributions to liver transplantation and gastrointestinal surgery.
