Dr. Vivek Vij

Dr. Vivek Vij is a distinguished liver transplant surgeon with over 25 years of surgical experience. Currently serving as the Chairman of Liver Transplant and Hepatobiliary Sciences at Fortis Group of Hospitals, he is renowned for pioneering living donor liver transplantation in India. With a record of more than 4,000 successful transplants and a 97% patient survival rate, he has helped set new benchmarks in organ transplant care. Importantly, he is credited with achieving a 100% donor safety profile, which reflects his commitment to surgical precision and patient well-being.

In addition to his clinical excellence, Dr. Vij has made remarkable academic contributions. He has published over 50 national and international papers, with research featured in reputed journals such as the American Journal of Transplantation and Liver Transplantation. Notably, he was the only Indian selected for the prestigious Roche Preceptorship Program at the University of Alabama, USA.
