Dr. Veena Kalra

Dr. Veena Kalra is a highly accomplished Pediatric Neurologist with over 36 years of experience, currently practicing at Apollo Hospitals in South Delhi. She holds an MBBS and MD in Pediatrics and has earned fellowships from prestigious bodies such as the National Academy of Medical Sciences (FNAMS), Indian Academy of Pediatrics (FIAP), and the National Academy of Sciences (FNASc). Formerly the Professor and Head of Pediatrics at AIIMS, she initiated India’s only DM course in Pediatric Neurology and contributed extensively to national child health programs. Her clinical and research expertise includes childhood epilepsy, learning disabilities, neurogenetic and neurometabolic disorders, Indian childhood cirrhosis, neurocysticercosis, and lead poisoning.

Dr. Kalra has received several national and international awards, including honors from three Presidents of India and 13 academic medals. She has also been recognized by international forums such as the International AIDS Society (Sydney), ICAAC (Boston), and IDSA. Her research has earned global recognition, including awards from Japan’s Journal of Child Neurology. She serves as an expert advisor to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, ICMR, MCI, and NAMS. Fluent in English and Hindi, she is committed to offering compassionate, evidence-based care to children with complex neurological conditions.
