Dr. Vaibhaw Kumar

Dr. Vaibhaw Kumar is a highly skilled Liver Transplant and HPB (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary) surgeon with over 17 years of experience. He has played a pivotal role in the development of liver transplantation programs in India, working at some of the country’s most prestigious medical institutions. Throughout his career, Dr. Kumar has been actively involved in more than 2,000 liver transplants and complex HPB surgeries, offering life-saving treatments to patients with end-stage liver disease, liver cancer, and other hepatobiliary disorders.

During his training at the Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS), he had the opportunity to work alongside leading national and international faculty, gaining extensive experience in advanced surgical techniques. He was also instrumental in establishing India’s largest public-sector liver transplant unit, significantly improving accessibility to high-quality liver care for patients across the country.

Known for his expertise in both adult and pediatric liver transplants, Dr. Kumar specializes in minimally invasive HPB procedures, laparoscopic liver surgeries, and gallbladder cancer treatment.
