Dr. Tarun Kumar is a highly experienced surgeon with over 25 years in the field of laparoscopic and general surgery. Currently, he serves as the Associate Director of Robotics, MIS and General Surgery at Medanta Noida. His medical journey began with an MBBS from GSVM Medical College, Kanpur, in 1995. He then earned his MS in General Surgery from LLRM Medical College, Meerut, in 2000. FAIS and FIAGES fellowships were also obtained by him. Over the years, he has performed more than 8,000 laparoscopic and general surgeries. Therefore, his surgical expertise is truly extensive.
His clinical expertise covers a wide spectrum of minimally invasive procedures. Advanced laparoscopic surgeries including bariatric surgery, fundoplication, hemicolectomies, cholecystectomy, appendicectomy, and hernioplasty are performed by him. He is also skilled in MIPH for haemorrhoids. Furthermore, he has performed gynaecological laparoscopic surgeries like LAVH and ovarian cystectomy. Many surgical emergencies including liver resection, splenectomy, and exploratory laparotomies have been managed by him. He was instrumental in initiating the robotic surgery programme at Yatharth Hospital, Greater Noida West.
