Dr. Sumit Singh is a distinguished neurologist with over 30 years of experience, renowned for his expertise in headache disorders and movement disorders. A top student at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), he received the prestigious BL SONI Gold Medal upon graduation. In 2002, Dr. Singh established India’s first headache clinic in the government sector at AIIMS, significantly impacting headache care in the Indian subcontinent. He has played a pivotal role in developing headache management guidelines and was the first to introduce Botulinum toxin for headache treatment in India, further extending its application to trigeminal neuralgia.
His specialization in Parkinson’s disease includes patient planning and programming for Deep Brain Stimulation surgery. Dr. Singh is among the few practitioners in the country who performs treatments for hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, spasticity, writer’s cramp, and spasmodic torticollis. His contributions to Myasthenia gravis and multiple sclerosis management include updated plasma exchange protocols based on his extensive research. From 2009 to 2016, he served as the Additional Director of Neurology at Medanta – The Medicity, coordinating programs for headache and movement disorder treatments.
