About Dr. Sujoy Bhattacharjee
Dr. Sujoy Bhattacharjee is a highly accomplished orthopaedic surgeon with over 25 years of extensive experience. He currently serves as the Chairman & Chief of the Max Institute of Robotic Joint Replacement at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, Delhi. He completed his MBBS from Silchar Medical College, Assam, in 1995, where he was the Best Outgoing Graduate. Subsequently, he earned his MS in Orthopaedics from Jiwaji University, Gwalior, in 2000. He then pursued numerous prestigious international fellowships across the globe. These include fellowships in France, the UK, the USA, Australia, and Germany. He also holds an MCh in Orthopaedics from the University of Seychelles. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Therefore, his training and credentials are truly world-class.
Additionally, Dr. Bhattacharjee has performed over 25,000 joint replacement surgeries throughout his career. This includes more than 5,000 cruciate-retaining robotic surgeries. He holds multiple world records for his pioneering work. He performed the world’s first cruciate-retaining knee replacement with an active robot. This achievement is recognized by the World Book of Records, International Book of Records, and India Book of Records. He also operated on a 104-year-old patient for hip joint surgery, earning a place in the Limca Book of Records. Moreover, he has been invited as Guest Faculty for the first active Robotic Total Knee Replacement in Kazakhstan. He is also associated with the Centre of Excellence for MISSO Robotic System (MERIL) and contributes to R&D. Consequently, he is a globally recognized and trusted name in robotic joint replacement surgery.
