About Dr. Sharan Choudhri
Dr. Sharan Choudhri is a highly distinguished Surgical Oncologist with over 41 years of extensive experience. He currently serves as the Senior Director of Surgical Oncology at Max Hospital, Saket. His academic journey began with an MBBS from the University of Pune in 1979. He then earned his MS in General Surgery from the University of Pune in 1985. He also completed his DNB in Surgical Oncology from the National Board of Examination in 1988. Specialized training in Esophageal Surgery and Hepato-Biliary Surgery from Japan and the USA was also completed by him. Additionally, he received UICC-ICRETT Fellowship Awards for research on Sentinel Lymph Node Mapping & Biopsy. Therefore, his training and credentials are truly world-class.
A wealth of clinical experience was accumulated by him in the Army Medical Corps over three decades. The first Malignant Diseases Treatment Centre at INHS Asvini was established by him. He also served as Sectional Editor of the Indian Journal of Surgery. An Elected Member of the Executive Committee of the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology was also his role. The Air Vice-Marshal MM Shrinagesh Memorial Medal for standing First in Surgery was received by him. The “Young Investigators Award” at the 3rd International Sentinel Node Congress in Yokohama, Japan, was also awarded to him.
