His academic journey began at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, where he completed MBBS in 1990 and MS in General Surgery in 1994. Later, he completed Fellowship of the International College of Laparoscopic Surgeons (FCLS) in 2012. In addition, he received advanced international training in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery.
