About Dr. Rajesh Puri
Dr. Rajesh Puri is a highly experienced gastroenterologist with over 30 years of clinical expertise. He currently serves as Vice Chairman – Interventional Gastroenterology at Medanta – The Medicity, Gurugram. He specializes in advanced endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), colonoscopy, and therapeutic interventions for gastrointestinal diseases. Over the years, he has built a strong reputation for managing complex digestive disorders with precision. In addition, he focuses on minimally invasive techniques that improve patient outcomes and recovery time. As a result, he is considered a leading expert in interventional gastroenterology in North India.
He completed his MBBS and MD in General Medicine from SN Medical College, Jodhpur, and later pursued DNB in Gastroenterology from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. Furthermore, he received advanced international training in therapeutic EUS from Japan and Denmark. He played a key role in introducing endoscopic ultrasound in India in 2005, especially for cancer staging and biopsy. In addition, he has trained many doctors through workshops and conferences across the country. He has received the Gold Medal from the Honorable President of India and the Young Investigator Award by APDW. Moreover, he actively contributes to research and holds leadership roles, including Secretary General of the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India.
