Dr. Rajesh Khullar

Dr. Rajesh Khullar is a highly accomplished surgeon with over 42 years of extensive experience in the field. He currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Max Institute of Laparoscopic, Robotic and Bariatric Surgery at Max Hospital, Saket. His medical journey began with an MBBS from AFMC, Poona University. Subsequently, he earned his MS in General Surgery from PGI, Chandigarh. He has been associated with the department of Minimal Access Surgery since its very inception. A dedicated department of Minimal Access Surgery was joined by him at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in 1996. He worked there as Senior Consultant and later as Vice Chairman until November 2009. Max Hospital was joined by him as Senior Consultant in November 2009. Therefore, his training and credentials are truly world-class.

Additionally, Dr. Khullar specializes in Hepatobiliary Surgeries, Upper GI Surgeries, Hernia Repair, Bariatric Surgery, and Thoracoscopic Procedures. Extra peritoneal repair of Inguinal hernia in India was pioneered by him. Two editions of a textbook on ‘Endo Hernia Repair’ have been co-authored by him in 2004 and 2012. Fifteen educational CD-ROMs on Minimal Access Surgery were created by him. These were released by the Hon. President of India in 2002. The manual ‘Minimal Access Surgery – Guidelines & Recommendations’ was also compiled by him. Moreover, he is the President of OSSI and the Hernia Society of India. He is also the Joint Secretary of APHS and an Executive Member of IAGES. Consequently, he is a globally recognized and trusted name in laparoscopic, robotic, and bariatric surgery.
