Currently serving as Chairman – Urology, Robotics, and Renal Transplant at Manipal Hospital Gurugram, he is widely known for his expertise in kidney transplantation, robotic urology, and minimally invasive surgical procedures. Moreover, he served in the Armed Forces Medical Services for over 23 years, where he contributed significantly to the development of cadaver renal transplant and laparoscopic urology programs in India. As a result, he earned recognition for both his surgical excellence and commitment to patient care.
In addition, Dr. Sood was among the first surgeons to introduce Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate in North India in 1999. Furthermore, he pioneered Green Laser Vaporization of the Prostate in India in 2003, helping advance modern prostate surgery techniques in the country. He has successfully performed more than 4,000 renal transplant surgeries and also mentors transplant surgeons internationally across several countries.
