Dr. Prof S V S Deo

Dr. Prof. S. V. S. Deo is a highly renowned Surgical Oncologist with over 33 years of experience in cancer care, currently serving as Senior Consultant at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi. He has previously held esteemed positions including Head of Department, Surgical Oncology at BRA-IRCH and NCI, AIIMS. His academic journey includes an MBBS from Andhra University, MS (Surgery) from AIIMS, and advanced training in Surgical Oncology from top global centers like Memorial Sloan Kettering (USA), Chang Gung Hospital (Taiwan), and MD Anderson Cancer Center (USA). Dr. Deo has managed more than 30,000 cancer cases and pioneered multidisciplinary, organ-based cancer care services and oncology databases at AIIMS. He is especially recognized for his work in breast cancer, GI cancers, sarcomas, and peritoneal surface malignancies (HIPEC), and is deeply involved in MDT planning and risk-reducing surgeries.

In addition to his clinical excellence, Dr. Deo holds key national and international leadership roles, including President of the Association of Breast Surgeons of India and President Elect of the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology.
