Dr. (Prof.) Amit Javed is a senior gastrointestinal, GI oncology, and bariatric surgeon with over 25 years of clinical and academic experience. Currently serving as the Senior Director at Fortis Hospital, Gurgaon, he has performed more than 1,000 complex surgeries each year. His expertise lies in minimally invasive GI surgeries, GI cancers, and weight loss procedures. Importantly, Dr. Javed has received advanced training at prestigious institutions such as PGIMER Chandigarh, AIIMS New Delhi, and international centers like UCSF and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, USA.
Throughout his career, Dr. Javed has held several leadership positions, including Head of GI Surgery at Fortis Shalimar Bagh, Vasant Kunj, and CK Birla Hospital in Delhi. At UCSF, he was involved in abdominal organ transplants including liver, pancreas, and kidney surgeries. Furthermore, he has mentored numerous GI surgeons across India during his academic tenure at GB Pant Institute, New Delhi.
