Dr. Pankaj Puri

Dr. Pankaj Puri is a highly distinguished Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with over 33 years of extensive experience. He currently serves as the Director of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Fortis Escorts Liver and Digestive Diseases Institute, Okhla, New Delhi. An alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, he completed his MD in Medicine from Pune University. He then pursued his DM in Gastroenterology from PGIMER, Chandigarh. Additionally, he completed a fellowship in Liver Transplant in London, UK. Therefore, his training and credentials are truly world-class.

He was earlier the Head of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary Sciences at the Army Hospital (Research & Referral), New Delhi. There, he was instrumental in developing a successful liver transplant program. He was formerly Professor of Medicine at Delhi University. He has also held the appointment of Professor and Head of Internal Medicine at AFMC, Pune. Additionally, he has served as a Governing Council member for the Indian National Association for the Study of the Liver. Over 80 publications are credited to his name. His areas of interest include treatment of Hepatitis B and C, chronic liver disease, liver transplantation, and advanced endoscopic procedures. Moreover, he is an expert in diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP, and Liver Transplantation.
