Dr. Niteen Kumar

Dr. Niteen Kumar is a highly respected HPB surgeon and liver transplant specialist with more than 16 years of experience in advanced liver and hepatobiliary care. He is widely recognised for his expertise in liver transplantation, complex pancreatic surgery, and minimally invasive HPB procedures. Moreover, he is known for delivering ethical, evidence-based, and patient-focused treatment with consistently successful outcomes.

After completing his surgical training, Dr. Niteen joined the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, one of India’s premier centres for liver transplantation. There, he played an important role in the development of a successful public-sector liver transplant program. In addition, he gained extensive exposure to complex liver surgeries, transplant procedures, and challenging hepatobiliary conditions. During his tenure at ILBS, he became an integral part of more than 250 liver transplant procedures.

He has published several impactful papers in reputed national and international medical journals. His areas of expertise include adult and paediatric liver transplantation, robotic liver donor surgery, pancreatic surgery, and hepatobiliary cancer surgery.
