Dr. Neelam Mohan

Dr. Neelam Mohan is one of India’s leading Pediatric Gastroenterologists and Hepatologists with more than 36 years of experience. She currently serves as Senior Director at Medanta, Gurugram, in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Liver Transplant Sciences. She is widely recognized for her pioneering work in pediatric liver care and transplantation.

As a trailblazer in her field, she started one of India’s earliest pediatric liver transplant programs. She was also the first in India to introduce therapeutic endoscopy for newborns and young children. In addition, she has contributed to several global firsts in pediatric liver transplantation. Her clinical work focuses on complex liver diseases, digestive disorders, and advanced pediatric interventions.

Academically, Dr. Mohan has an outstanding record. She has authored more than 250 publications, including over 100 international papers. Moreover, she has written more than 50 book chapters and delivered lectures at over 900 forums worldwide. She has been invited to speak across the USA, Europe, UK, Canada, Japan, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific countries.

Beyond patient care and academics, she plays an important advisory role in healthcare policy. She is associated with the National Health Authority of India under Ayushman Bharat. Furthermore, she has contributed to pediatric treatment guidelines through ICMR initiatives and the National Board of Examinations.

Because of her remarkable contributions, she has received several prestigious honors, including the B.C. Roy National Award presented by the President of India. Her dedication, innovation, and compassionate care make her a trusted leader in pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology.
