Dr. Narmada Prasad Gupta is a Professor Emeritus in Urology at Medanta – The Medicity, Gurugram, with a distinguished career of over 46–50 years in the field of urology and renal care. He is one of India’s most respected urologists, known for his immense contribution to surgical urology and academic leadership. He has performed more than 30,000 urological surgeries, which include complex procedures for prostate, kidney, bladder, and urinary tract diseases. Therefore, he is widely regarded as a pioneer in advanced urological care in India.
He completed his MCh in Urology from AIIMS, New Delhi, and later served as Professor and Head of Department at AIIMS from 1998 to 2010. In addition, he played a key role in introducing robotic surgery in urology at AIIMS in 2006. As a result, he has performed the highest number of robotic urology surgeries in India. Moreover, he has contributed significantly to research, education, and surgical innovation.
