Dr. Manoj Kumar Goel

Dr. Manoj Kumar Goel is a renowned pulmonologist with over 25 years of experience in respiratory medicine, interventional pulmonology, and sleep disorders. He currently serves as the Principal Director and Head of the Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine Department at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon. Dr. Goel completed his MBBS and MD from King George Medical University, Lucknow. He pursued further specialization with a Diploma in Interventional Pulmonology from the University of Lille, France, and fellowships in Sleep Medicine from Prince Royal Alfred Hospital, Sydney, and Intensive Care Medicine from Erasme University Hospital, Brussels. His global training and extensive clinical exposure have made him a pioneer in advanced respiratory care.

Throughout his career, Dr. Goel has been instrumental in introducing new techniques and training programs in India. He was among the first to implement non-invasive ventilation and sleep medicine practices in the country. He has also led specialized training programs such as Bronchoscopy in ICU for intensivists and mastered procedures like EBUS-TBNA, Cryobiopsy, and Medical Thoracoscopy. As a faculty and course director, he has actively organized and chaired national conferences, workshops, and symposiums related to pulmonology and critical care. His contributions extend to academia, with 25+ research publications in national and international journals.

Dr. Goel’s clinical interests include difficult-to-treat asthma, chronic lung diseases, interventional bronchoscopy, and systemic pulmonary disorders. He has been honored with prestigious recognitions, including the Times Lifetime Legend Award and two Oration Awards at national conferences.
