Dr. Kumud Rai

Dr. Kumud Rai is a highly experienced Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon with over 42 years of extensive experience. He currently serves as the Principal Director of Vascular Surgery at Max Hospital, Saket. His medical journey began with an MBBS from Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, in 1978. Subsequently, he earned his MS in Surgery from Pune University in 1984, securing the first position. Specialized Vascular Surgery Training at Erasmus University Hospital Rotterdam, Holland, was completed by him from 1991 to 1993. The Armed Forces Medical Services benefited from his service for many years. Various academic positions at AFMC, Pune, were held by him, including Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. He also served as Head of Department (Vascular Surgery) at Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi. Therefore, his training and credentials are truly world-class.

Additionally, Dr. Rai has received numerous prestigious awards and recognitions. Gold Medals in Anatomy, Physiology, and Surgery from AFMC, Pune, in 1978 were awarded to him. The Sena Medal from the President of India for his services in the Kargil War was also received by him. Moreover, the Pioneer in Vascular Surgery Award by Indovasc in March 2015 was bestowed upon him. The Presidential Citation Award from the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) in June 2015 was also given to him. Furthermore, he served as President of the Vascular Society of India. Several Vascular Surgeons were trained under his supervision. He also served as Vice President of the International Society for Vascular Surgery (ISVS). Consequently, he is a globally recognized and trusted name in vascular surgery.
