Dr. Gourdas Choudhuri

Dr. (Prof) Gourdas Choudhuri is a highly respected name in the field of gastroenterology with over 42 years of experience. Currently serving as the Chairman of Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary Sciences at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, he has significantly contributed to the development of liver and digestive healthcare in India. Trained at the prestigious AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr. Choudhuri was the first in India to introduce Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Extra Corporeal Shockwave Biliary Lithotripsy (ESWL). Under his leadership, the gastroenterology department at SGPGIMS Lucknow became one of the top five in the country. He is widely recognized for his expertise in managing complex liver and gastrointestinal diseases and has a strong commitment to patient care and advanced endoscopic techniques.

Dr. Choudhuri has authored over 200 scientific publications and held key positions in various medical societies, including serving as the President of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology. He is a Fellow of renowned bodies such as the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG), Indian College of Physicians (FICP), and Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (FRCPI).
