Dr. Gargi Maitra

Dr. Gargi Maitra is a Senior Consultant in Pulmonology, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram. With over 13 years of post-MD experience, she brings exceptional clinical expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex respiratory diseases and critical care conditions. A gold medalist in MBBS from North Bengal Medical College, she completed her MD in Respiratory Medicine from Government Medical College, Amritsar, followed by super-speciality training in Critical Care (IDCCM) at PGIMS, Rohtak. She is also an ELSO-certified ECMO specialist and received advanced training in Interventional Pulmonology and Rigid Bronchoscopy from Mahidol University, Thailand.

Her key clinical interests include advanced pulmonary interventions like EBUS-TBNA, cryobiopsies, APC, electrocautery, and airway stenting. She manages a wide range of respiratory conditions including tuberculosis, pleural diseases, pneumothorax, hemoptysis, and tumor-related airway obstructions. Dr. Maitra is also experienced in handling critically ill patients on ventilators, making her a vital part of the intensive care team. She is involved in the early diagnosis and staging of lung cancers, respiratory emergencies, and chronic diseases like asthma and COPD.
