His academic journey began with an MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi. He then earned his MCh in CTS from Christian Medical College, Vellore. An MNAMS (CTVS) from the National Academy of Medical Sciences was also obtained by him. Advanced training in Paediatric Cardiac Surgery was received under Dr. Roger Mee and Professor Tim Cartmill.
