Dr. BML Kapoor

Dr. BML Kapoor is a highly distinguished General and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon with over 68 years of experience. He has played a pivotal role in advancing surgical oncology and gastrointestinal surgery in India. As the former Head of the Department of Surgery at AIIMS, New Delhi, and the Director of the Cancer Hospital at AIIMS, he has made significant contributions to surgical education and patient care. He completed his MBBS from the University of Agra in 1956 and pursued FRCS in General Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK, in 1960. Currently, he is a Senior Consultant at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi. His expertise includes complex surgical procedures such as nephrectomy, fistula surgery, piles surgery, and laser treatments.

Dr. Kapoor has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the B.C. Ray Award and the Sandoz Award of ICMR. He has served as the President of multiple surgical associations, such as the Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology and the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology. Additionally, he has been an advisor to the Cancer Ministry of Health, Government of India. His immense contributions to medical research and surgical advancements continue to benefit the field of healthcare.
