Dr. Belal Bin Asaf

Dr. Belal Bin Asaf is Director of Lung Transplant and Chest Surgery at Medanta, Gurugram. He is a highly experienced thoracic surgeon with more than 20 years of clinical expertise. Moreover, he is widely recognized for minimally invasive chest surgery, robotic thoracic procedures, and lung transplant surgery. He completed MBBS and MS in Surgery, followed by Fellowship in Thoracic Surgery. In addition, he received advanced training in minimally invasive esophagectomy, VATS lobectomy, and robotic console surgery. Therefore, he brings strong international training and modern surgical expertise in chest diseases.

Dr. Asaf specializes in surgical treatment of diseases involving the lungs, mediastinum, trachea, esophagus, and diaphragm. Furthermore, he is a pioneer in robotic thoracic surgery and has performed more than 200 robotic chest surgeries with excellent outcomes. He also runs one of India’s largest minimally invasive thoracic surgery programs for lung cancer. He has performed over 10,000 surgeries and is among the few surgeons in India experienced in mesothelioma surgery. In addition, he performed the country’s first robotic sub-xiphoid thymectomy for myasthenia gravis and thymoma. He is also a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.
