About Dr. Avnish Seth
Dr. Avnish Seth serves as the Chairman of the Manipal Institute of Gastroenterology & Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences. He is a senior Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with expertise in advanced endoscopy, liver diseases, and organ transplantation. Moreover, he holds MBBS, MD (Medicine), and DM (Gastroenterology) degrees from PGIMER, Chandigarh.
In addition, he is an alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune. He brings 28 years of experience in the Armed Forces Medical Services, where he worked extensively as a Gastroenterologist. Furthermore, he has completed advanced fellowships in liver transplantation in Birmingham, UK, along with specialized training in advanced GI endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound in the USA.
Over time, he has contributed significantly to medical education and clinical training. As a result, he has guided both undergraduate and postgraduate students in Gastroenterology and Medicine. Moreover, he has played an active role in strengthening liver transplant programs and organ donation systems in India.
Additionally, he is widely respected for his leadership in liver transplantation. Therefore, he continues to contribute to national-level policies and ethical frameworks in organ and tissue transplantation.
