Dr. Arun Kumar Gupta

Dr. Arun Kumar Gupta is a highly experienced General Surgeon with over 37 years of extensive clinical, academic, and administrative experience. He is currently serving as Professor at Amrita Hospital. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has held several prestigious positions including Principal, Consultant, Professor, and Head of the Surgical Unit at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. His academic foundation includes MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College and MS in General Surgery from Safdarjung Hospital, both under Delhi University, where he excelled by clearing all examinations on his first attempt. With over 40 publications to his credit, he has made significant contributions to surgical research and education.

Dr. Gupta specializes in general and minimal access surgery, offering comprehensive care across a wide range of surgical conditions. Extensive experience in trauma care and surgical education is highlighted by his role as Course Director of the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Programme. A strong academic background and leadership experience have enabled him to mentor numerous medical students and surgical trainees throughout his career.
