About Dr. Anil Bhan

Dr. Anil Bhan is a highly respected cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon with over 45 years of overall experience. Currently, he serves as Senior Director – Cardiac Surgery at Medanta – The Medicity. He completed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Srinagar, where he was a gold medalist. Later, he pursued MS in General Surgery from PGIMER Chandigarh and MCh in Cardiothoracic Surgery from All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

Moreover, Dr. Bhan is known for having one of the largest experiences in aortic surgery in India. He has performed more than 15,000 cardiac and vascular procedures with excellent outcomes. In addition, he played a key role in the team that performed India’s first successful heart transplant in 1994. He has also contributed to innovation by designing over 50 surgical instruments in cardiac surgery. Therefore, his work has significantly advanced cardiac care in India.

Furthermore, he helped establish major cardiac surgery programs at Puttaparthi, Whitefield, and Max Heart and Vascular Institute, Saket. His expertise covers complex heart surgeries, pediatric cardiac care, and vascular procedures. As a result, he is widely recognized for precision, innovation, and consistent results in cardiac surgery.
