Dr. Amrita Kapoor Chaturvedi is a highly experienced Ophthalmologist and Eye Surgeon with over 31 years of overall experience, including 25 years as a specialist. Currently serving as Senior Consultant & Associate Professor at Amrita Hospital, she brings extensive expertise in managing complex ophthalmic conditions. Her academic journey includes MBBS and MD in Ophthalmology from the prestigious AIIMS New Delhi, along with fellowship recognition from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS). Advanced training was undertaken at the renowned Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS, where extensive work was carried out in subspecialties such as glaucoma, squint, and neuro-ophthalmology, followed by a Senior Research Associate role focusing on oculoplasty, pediatric ophthalmology, and ocular oncology.
With vast clinical and surgical experience, Dr. Amrita has managed a wide spectrum of eye conditions including glaucoma, pediatric eye disorders, squint, and neuro-ophthalmological diseases. Extensive experience has been gained in handling both primary and referred complex cases, particularly in glaucoma management using advanced surgical techniques such as valves and drainage devices. In addition, proficiency includes cataract surgeries such as phacoemulsification and extracapsular cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation. She previously worked as a Senior Consultant at Visitech Eye Centre, New Delhi for several years before joining Amrita Hospital in 2022.
