About Dr. Amarender Singh Puri
Dr. Amarender Singh Puri is a highly experienced gastroenterologist with over 40 years of clinical practice. He currently serves as Vice Chairman at the Institute of Digestive & Hepatobiliary Sciences, Medanta – The Medicity, Gurugram. He has extensive expertise in luminal gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease, and celiac disease. Over the years, he has played a key role in advancing digestive disease management in India. In addition, he is known for his academic excellence and strong research background. As a result, he is widely respected in both clinical and academic circles.
He completed his MBBS and MD in Internal Medicine from Christian Medical College, Ludhiana. After that, he pursued DM in Gastroenterology from SGPGI, Lucknow. He also worked as a Lecturer in Medicine at CMC Ludhiana early in his career. Furthermore, he joined GB Pant Hospital, New Delhi, where he rose to become Professor and Head of Gastroenterology. He served there for more than two decades and led major academic and clinical programs. In addition, he has published over 110 research papers in reputed journals. He has also received several awards, including the Times Healthcare Award and the Delhi Government State Award for Meritorious Service.
