Knee surgeon Dr. Vivek Dahiya has received thorough training in all facets of knee disorders both domestically and abroad. He worked as a resident at Fortis Hospital in Noida and Vasant Kunj in New Delhi after completing his orthopaedic training in 2003. Since Medanta – The Medicity opened in 2009, he has been employed there. He progressed through the department to become a Senior Consultant and, until 2016, he only worked in the Knee Unit. He returned to Medanta – The Medicity as the Director of Adult Reconstruction Lower Limb after overseeing the Knee Unit as an Associate Director in the Fortis Hospitals in Gurgaon and New Delhi.
Knee arthroscopy is a specialty in which Dr. Dahiya is skilled, and his experience includes everything from straightforward diagnostic operations through meniscus preservation, cartilage repair and transplants, and ligament reconstructions. His experience includes doing various ligament reconstructions, treating knee dislocations, and employing osteotomies (the surgical cutting of bone to achieve alignment) to rectify complex abnormalities. Another area of his specialty is the partial or total replacement of knees in the treatment of knee arthritis. He specializes in the treatment of contaminated total knee replacements and is particularly interested in doing so.
