About Dr. Vinod Raina
Dr. Vinod Raina is recognized as one of India’s foremost Medical Oncologists, bringing over 40 years of extensive experience in the field. His career began at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, where he served as Professor and Head of Medical Oncology for 24 years. Dr. Raina’s expertise spans a wide range of cancers, including breast, lung, gastrointestinal, urological, gynaecological cancers, lymphomas, and myelomas. He has personally performed around 400 bone marrow and stem cell transplants, showcasing his advanced skills and commitment to patient care.
As a prominent researcher, Dr. Raina was the Principal Investigator for approximately 50 research projects at AIIMS, contributing significantly to the medical field. He co-founded the INDOX network, which has strengthened collaborative cancer research in India. His mentorship has guided nearly 70 residents and DM students, many of whom now hold leading positions in India and abroad.
Since joining Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI) in 2013, Dr. Raina has taken on various leadership roles, including Director and Head of Medical Oncology and Haematology, and was promoted to Executive Director in 2017. He currently serves as the Chairperson of Oncosciences at Fortis Healthcare.
