- A well-known cardio-vascular surgeon in the country is Dr. Sushant Srivastava. He specializes in complex vascular procedures on the aorta, carotid arteries, and lower limb vessels, as well as single, double, and triple valve repairs and replacements. He also does beating heart bypass surgery.
He performed successful bypass surgery on a 96-year-old patient, likely the oldest patient to have undergone this procedure, and rose to national attention as a result. He has now handled nearly 10,000 cases in total.
He completed his M.Ch. in CTVS in 1994 at the prestigious AIIMS in New Delhi, where he also underwent training in Cardio-Vascular Surgery. He remained on the faculty there as an Assistant Professor till September 1998.
