Dr. Rahul Bhargava

Dr. Rahul Bhargava is a renowned Hematologist and Principal Director of Hematology, Hemato-Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant at Fortis Hospital, Gurgaon. With over 25 years of experience, he began his journey in stem cell transplantation at Medanta in 2010 and has since successfully completed more than 1,500 transplants. Dr. Bhargava played a pioneering role in establishing 10 low-cost stem cell transplant centers across India, including at Sarvodaya Hospital, Batra Hospital, and Action Balaji Hospital. He has been instrumental in creating India’s first integrated center of excellence in Hematology, Pediatric Hematology, and Stem Cell Transplant at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram.

A visionary in the field, Dr. Bhargava became the first Indian doctor to perform and popularize stem cell transplantation for Multiple Sclerosis in 2016. His dedication goes beyond hospital walls—he actively participates in government initiatives to make India anemia- and thalassemia-free by offering affordable Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) treatments. Driven by a strong commitment to community hematology, he has screened over 500 children in Haryana for blood disorders and conducted more than 1,000 Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions to raise awareness among medical professionals.

Dr. Bhargava’s special interests include stem cell transplantation, pediatric hematology, and treating multiple sclerosis. He holds an MBBS, MD in Medicine, and DM in Clinical Hematology. Recognized as one of the leading experts in his field, he continues to contribute to both clinical excellence and public health, improving outcomes and access for countless patients across India.
