Doctor Gourdas Choudhuri

The Director and Head of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary Sciences of Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, is Dr. (Prof) Gourdas Choudhuri, MD, DM, FACG, FICP, FAMS, FRCPI. He is a gastroenterologist, medical instructor, nationally renowned researcher, columnist, and philanthropist, in addition to being a gastroenterologist. He received his training in New Delhi at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Extra Corporeal Shockwave Biliary Lithotripsy (ESWL) were pioneered in India by Dr. Choudhuri. At the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow, the gastroenterology department rose to become one of the top five in the nation under his direction. Dr. Choudhuri has been on the boards of numerous scholarly organizations and journals and has been a pioneer in the development of liver and digestive healthcare in the nation. He is a renowned educator and has served as president of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology. He has given several speeches, received prizes, and published more than 200 scholarly articles. Dr. Choudhuri has more than 40 years of professional experience, and he offers a wealth of knowledge and skill to the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of GI and liver problems. He is an expert endoscopist as well.
