About the doctor
- One of our Liver Transplant / HPB program’s youngest consultants is Dr. Giriraj Bora. Dr. Bora is a J L N Medical College of Ajmer graduate. Prior to starting as a Senior Resident in General Surgery at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow, he received his training in general surgery at the same facility. At the G B Pant Hospital in Delhi, he subsequently enrolled in the MCh superspecialty program in G I Surgery, where he underwent three years of training. Dr. Bora worked as a consultant general surgeon in Jaipur after completing his training before deciding to pursue a career in liver transplantation.
He began his career with CLBS in 2011 as a Fellow in Liver Transplant / HPB Surgery and underwent comprehensive training in all facets of Liver Transplant / HPB Surgery.
Dr. Bora received a job offer as a consultant with CLBS in January 2013. Dr. Bora is a dedicated member of the core surgical team at our facility and is essential in the evaluation of liver donors prior to liver transplantation.
He specializes in pancreatic surgery (Whipple’s pancreaticoduodenal resections and surgery for chronic pancreatitis), combined liver-and-kidney transplantation, liver transplantation, and liver resections for hepatocellular malignancies.His study has mostly focused on the hemodynamic alterations that occur following liver transplantation and changes that occur during IVC crossclamping in LDLT.
Dr. Bora has multiple publications in the field of G I surgery and liver transplantation, as well as numerous presentations at national and international conferences, including the famous ILTS conferences in San Francisco in 2012 and Sydney in 2013, which are held by the International Liver Transplant Society.
