Dr. Giriraj Bora is one of the youngest and most dedicated consultants in the Liver Transplant and HPB (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary) program, based in Gurugram, India. A graduate of J L N Medical College in Ajmer, Dr. Bora completed his general surgery training at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow, where he later served as a Senior Resident.
He pursued an MCh in GI Surgery at G B Pant Hospital in Delhi, followed by a fellowship in Liver Transplant Surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital. Since joining the CLBS as a Fellow in 2011, Dr. Bora has been instrumental in over 1,500 liver transplants, including pioneering efforts in the state of Rajasthan, where he performed its first liver transplant using both living and deceased donors. His expertise includes advanced procedures like Whipple’s pancreaticoduodenal resections and combined liver-and-kidney transplants. With multiple publications and presentations at renowned conferences, Dr. Bora’s research focuses on hemodynamic changes during liver transplantation. He has received numerous accolades, including the Young Investigator Award from the International Liver Transplant Society. Dr. Bora is committed to enhancing patient care and advancing surgical techniques in liver transplantation.
