For the past 20 years, Dr. Biswajyoti Hazarika has worked exclusively in the field of head and neck surgery. His specialty is surgery for tumors and cancer of the head and neck, which includes the thyroid and parathyroid glands, the larynx, the pharynx, the salivary glands, the oral cavity, the nose, and the para-nasal sinuses. Dr. Hazarika is an expert in his area and skilled in endoscopic and limited access surgery in the Head & Neck region as well as plastic reconstruction of the resected section. He just added robotic head and neck surgery to his collection.
Dr. Hazarika is very interested in the functional rehabilitation of all head and neck cancer patients in addition to surgical operations.

Dr. Hazarika finished his residency at the Dr. B. Barooah Cancer Centre in Guwahati not long after receiving his fellowship in head and neck surgery at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Onocology in Bangalore. The diverse experience he gained while working at Prince Aly Khan Hospital in Mumbai (under the direction of Dr. Sultan A Pradhan) gave him a profound understanding of the many levels of Head and Neck Oncology as a whole.

In 2009, Dr. Hazarika began working as a consultant in the department of surgical oncology at the Max Super Specialty Hospital in Saket, New Delhi. In 2013, he was appointed head of the department of head and neck surgery at the same institution, and he held that position until August 2016.

Dr. Hazarika has published extensively in local, national, and international medical journals and has also written chapters for the Atlas of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery.
