About The Doctor
- One of the largest Stem Cell Transplant programs in the private sector in north India was started by renowned and board-certified medical oncologist Dr. Ashok K. Vaid. At the Medanta Cancer Institute in Gurugram, India, Dr. Vaid presently holds the position of Chairman, Medical Oncology and Hematology and Stem Cell Transplant. He has more than 30 years of clinical experience, with a focus on precision onco-therapeutics, immunotherapy guidance, cancer genomics, dendritic cell therapy, and stem cell transplant. The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University in Chennai, India, granted him a Doctor of Medicine (DM) degree in Medical Oncology. In addition to actively engaging in clinical research, he has written many peer-reviewed articles, served as principal investigator for more than 50 foreign and domestic studies. Dr. Vaid serves on the panel of university examiners for the super-specialty degree in medical oncology and is also a postgraduate teacher certified with the National Board of Examinations. In recognition of his extraordinary contributions to medicine, the President of India presented him with the coveted “Padma Shri” Award in 2009.
