He then spent two years teaching medicine at CMC, Ludhiana (Panjab University) before joining DM (Gastroenterology).
Dr. Puri joined GB Pant Hospital in Delhi as an Associate Professor of Gastroenterology in 1992 after earning his DM (Gastroenterology) from SGPGI, Lucknow. He quickly advanced to the position of Professor and Head of the Medical Gastroenterology Department and remained there for more than 20 years before joining Medanta.
Numerous awards have been given to Dr. Puri, including the Times Healthcare Award in 2017 and the Delhi Government State Award for Meritorious Service in 2014. He has had numerous books, chapters, and articles appear in both domestic and foreign newspapers and magazines.
