Founded by the late Dr. V. Jeganathan on November 30, 1990, Billroth Hospitals has transformed the healthcare landscape in South India. Beginning with just 30 beds, the hospital quickly expanded to meet the increasing demand for quality healthcare services. Within six years, an additional 70-bed block was added, followed by the acquisition of Kalliapa Hospitals in 2003, which introduced another 100 beds. The establishment grew further, reaching 350 beds with the addition of the Shenoy Nagar S block in 2007. Tragically, Dr. Jeganathan passed away the same year while realizing his dream of providing accessible healthcare to the common man. His son, Dr. Rajesh Jeganathan, then took the helm at just 26 years old, ensuring that the hospital’s legacy continued.
Under Dr. Rajesh’s leadership, Billroth Hospitals evolved from a multi-specialty to a super-specialty institution, recognized for its advanced medical technologies and patient-centered approach. Notable achievements include the introduction of Tamil Nadu’s first dual CT scan and pioneering Rapid Arc Treatment for cancer.
